ADOPTED! February 21, 2015
Cesar is a 100 pound red/rust Doberman Pinscher. He is 6 years old. He was surrendered to a local animal control facility by his owners giving the reason they could no longer care for him. We frequently take in dogs and specifically Dobermans from shelters because they tend to not do well in kennel environments and shut down mentally if they are exposed too long. Luckily for us, and for Cesar, our rescue was approved to pull him and now he’s enjoying kennel freedom until we can find him a foster home. Cesar was obviously loved by his former family. In the short time we’ve gotten to know him he’s shown us his loyalty. He will sit down right next to you and walk along side staying just behind your step. He knows sit, down, shake and stay. He is very obedient.
Cesar will be exposed to small groups of dogs over the next week and then move into a foster home for observation and a report so we can match him up to a great family. He will be exposed to cats in his foster home too. Please stay tuned for a full report in the coming days..

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
