Hilga_sideFrahlein Hilga or Hilga for short is a small, female Chihuahua. Hilga was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter in Richland County. Her owners did not come claim her and we inquired taking her and one other dog (Spirit). One of our dedicated transport volunteers offered to pick both dogs up and they headed northbound for the new life to begin. As you can see from the picture below she enjoys car rides.

Hilga is fearless when it comes to darting around a room or getting where she needs to go. She is a SuperWoman of Chihuahua and can leap up 4′ to get where she needs to go. She loves to look out the window and be in her persons lap. These are our early observations at our facility, we will know more from her foster parent after she spends time in a house.  She had her extremly long nails trimmed and she did very well for Amanda at The Mutt Hutt Grooming Salon. She got a bath and warmed up by wearing a sweater after her bath.

Hilga is up to date on shots and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to her adoption. Please read up about this breed as they are not for everyone. Hilga will “alarm bark” when strangers come into a room but once she knows who you are she no longer barks or carries on. Hilga is very friendly with people she knows in a short time and she has no problem being picked up and held.

Email us if you would like to meet Hilga.
