ADOPTED! January 3, 2015

GonzoSHM_tallGonzo is a 16 month old, Blue/Rust, cropped and docked Doberman Pinscher male. He was found on a “Buy-Sell-Trade” page when someone discovered him and intervened to get him and then contacted us to place him. We are so very grateful that he is with us and will have the opportunity to find a great home and not risk being tossed around as that very well could have been the case. His original owners gave him up after one family member had allergies to him. A friend took him in and kept him for two months but determined their home size as not quite big enough to give a Doberman what he needs. They put him up on the free site and it was a close friend who intervened and took him in before he came to us. Thankfully, we have a great social media network and we were able to have one of our out-of-the-area emergency fosters take him in until we could drive to pick him up.

Gonzo is a wonderful dog who was clearly loved and raised in a great home before being passed on. He has prior experience living in a home with children so we would like to focus on finding him a home with a family and kids. Like with most of the Dobes we place a home with experience with the breed is recommended. Dobermans have a lot of energy that last for years so an active-style home an a fenced in yard would be a plus. Gonzo would make an excellent companion animal, running partner, friend to other dogs and he likes cats too.

Gonzo is neutered and up to date on shots. He is currently living in a foster home and we expect to get a report on him soon. He knows basic obedience, he loves to curl up on your bed at night but can be easily directed to a dog bed too. He is a gentleman when it comes to food.
