Harvey

ADOPTED! March 16, 2015

Harvey is a 3 year old Doberman Pinscher. His owners contacted us about taking him in because they could no longer give him the life he deserved. Harvey is very social with dogs and has attended daycare regularly. He does exhibit some critter drive with squirrels and will require a fenced in yard or consistent training for whomever adopts him. We would prefer he goes to a home with a fenced yard. Harvey has a laid back personality and has typical breed qualities of loyalty and leaning. Harvey does eat a special vet prescribed diet for a gastro intestinal problem that was causing diarrhea but with the food he’s on there are no issues. He loves taking naps, he knows basic commands but will need leash work on walks.

Harvey is up to date on shots, he is neutered and microchipped and ready to move in!

Former Owner Statement:
We rescued Harvey from a Mississippi shelter two years ago. At that time, he and his brother were left at the shelter with leashes and having been neutered. True to the breed, he is intelligent, energetic, graceful, playful and loyal to his family members. He plays well with other dogs, especially other large breed dogs; his bestie is a female Rottie next door. We do not honestly know how he will do with children, although he has been aprehensive around toddlers who tend to want to get in his face or handle him. Harvey is a sweet, endearing three and a half year old Dobie who we are sad to lose as a part of our family. However, because we have to board harvey when we travel or our new young grandchildren visit, we want him to have a consistent home-lifestyle where he can experience the undivided and structured attention he deserves. Harvey has pushed his way into our hearts and we know he will yours too!

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here.
