Holly

ADOPTED! January 12, 2015

While visiting Cleveland Animal Control to evaluate a dog for intake we stumbled upon a quiet shepherd in cage L3. She was missing fur all over her body, her ears were sunken and crusted over, she was emaciated but we knew we could help. Holly, the name her foster mom gave her, was going to have the best chance of becoming the beautiful German Shepherd she deserves to be thanks to a team of folks who will be caring for her. Holly is estimated to be around 2 years old, she was 63 pounds the day we took her in and hope to adopt her out at a much higher weight. She was filled with worms (common for rescue/street dogs), in need of antibiotics and a medicated bath. She had a 103 degree fever when she got to Gateway Animal Clinic. She was in need of immediate medical care and she received it. We are waiting on test results to understand what will be required to help her skin issue. For now she is taking strong antibiotics for a confirmed yeast infection.

HollySHM_bathIt’s dog like Holly that we go The Extra Mile for and we couldn’t do it without your help and support. Holly will need to receive medicated baths for a few months, she is not spayed so we will take care of that and we will have her obnoxiously long dew claws removed too. Her ears are a little torn up and raw. Holly is living in a foster home with four other dogs and doing well. She spent most of her first weekend out of the kennel asleep on a soft dog bed. She has enjoyed her meals and loves to snuggle.
