IreneSHM_bedEirene is a senior who was abused and neglected by her owner. She was taken away by the county shelter and a plea was made to us and we agreed to take her. Irene has been through enough and deserves to spend the rest of her life where she feels safe and loved. She quickly moved into a foster home (thank you Chris!!!) where she is living with a miniature Poodle (former Secondhand Mutt) and being pampered and getting the peace and quiet she deserves. Eirene has had a few accidents in the house (transitional or could be from age or a recent surgery) and we recently learned she has a heart murmur. We will continue to monitor her health while we seek the best home possible for her. She would do best in a home where she can get undivided attention, love and affection.

Eirene is up to date on vaccines and preventatives, spayed and ready to find a forever home. Irene has been through enough and deserves to spend the rest of her life where she feels safe and loved.

FOSTER HOME REPORT

Eirene is still settling in, but I see a little more of her personality every day. She was named after the Greek Goddess of Peace.  This girl needs peace in her life.  She is so sweet and deserves a loving home for her senior years.   Loving, patient people need apply.
She is a gentle old soul.  I’m not sure if she hears very well but when she sees me, she wags her tail and her eyes light up.   For all this lady has been through she still trusts.  No signs of aggression. I don’t think she knew about stairs before, but we are working on it and she is learning..  who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.  She walks slowly on the leash with me and Chance (former and adopted Secondhand Mutts and superstar mini poodle) and they are fine together.  I have not seen any negative behaviors towards people or other dogs. She is fine in a crate.  Has accidents in the house and we are working on house training.
She would be great in a quiet household.  I’m not sure she would do well with kids as she is timid.
