Louie is a 1.5 year old, neutered, Beagle/Basset Hound man! He’s around 20-25#. He is waiting for someone to adopt him and take him home. He is good with dogs, and kids. He is not a big fan of the crate but able to be crated if needed. He is still a young dog that needs some basic obediences and toys to chew on or he may find something to chew on that is not a dog toy. He is very responsive and highly trainable. Beagles/Hounds are scent driven and do best in confined homes with fences. We are open to a home or apartment life for him as long as he gets plenty of exercise. Louie was adopted a few months ago but due to a job change the owner returned him.

Louie is an awesome and adorable puppy. He is potty trained, but can have an accident if you wait too long to bring him out. He loves people and other dogs, and hasn’t had a problem keeping up with our extremely large and playful 1.5 year old doberman. He likes to play tug-of-war and can spend hours gnawing on a bone. He is very food driven, and has a sharp nose, so it’s important to make sure food items are out of his reach completely or he will find a way to get into it. He is also very curious, and will howl/bark if he hears something outside. He knows “sit”, and seems to be very responsive when you are trying to teach him other commands like “down” and “come”. Overall, he’s a sweet, happy, even tempered, fearless little pup, and anyone who adopts him will be happy they did!
We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here.
