ADOPTED! July 15, 2015

Marco is a healthy, brown coated, 4-5 year old Cocker Spaniel. He was adopted from our organization with his sister Polo a few years ago and due to a change in the home with the family and a move across the country only one of the dogs could go. Marco is a very adoptable dog and has been a regular boarding and grooming client at The Mutt Hutt. He has no medical problems, and has tested heartworm negative. He is neutered and up to day on all immunizations, flea preventative and heartworm preventative. His owners have provided more details below.

PRIOR HOME REPORT:

Marco lives with another rescue from Secondhand Mutts, and gets along well with her and with dogs at the dog park and on walks. We do not have cats and can’t comment if he is good or bad with them. He loves to sit out in the fenced yard, with his ball and toys next to him. Although he will run and get the ball, he is not yet used to the idea that if he gives it to you, he gets to chase it again!  He doesn’t dig or bother the garden, and prefers not to go in the pool although he can swim well.

Although we do not have small children living in the home, he is very gentle with them when they come over to visit. He loves out older children. He knows the commands sit and stay.

He is a happy – go – lucky dog, who is very friendly to the family and visitors.  He likes to lay on his back and get his tummy rubbed, and is happy to lie peacefully at your feet.  He does not chew stuff, does not bark indoors, and is happy to snooze unless it’s time to walk or play.  He loves long walks, and walks well on and off leash (off leash in enclosed dog parks and forest trails).

His house training is not dependable when left alone, and he does not have the run of the house but does better if he stays in the enclosed kitchen. I work full time, and family or a dog walker let him out during the day.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.

Adoption Fee $200
