Mick

ADOPTED! July 15, 2015

Mick is a four year old Chihuahua mix – we think mixed with Pug. Mick was transported north from a Tennessee shelter and wound up being admitted into our program. He is currently in a foster home with other little dogs and is a very well adjusted fellow. Mick has had his health exam at the Tremont Animal Clinic and is up to date on shots. He is 8 pounds. He is neutered and ready to find a forever home! Mick had a seizure shortly after arriving and we suspending placing him until we had a better understanding of what was going on. He has not had any incidents since the one in late January, he is not taking any medications.

Mick did display allergies and has been moved to a grain free Duck & Potato blend food. He should not change his diet.

Don’t pass up on this little guy — he will make anyone happy.

Foster Home Report

Mick came in to his foster home, a multi-dog household, and was instant friends with every dog here. He really enjoys playing chase with the other dogs. We don’t have cats so I can’t comment on how he would be with a cat. He’s loving and playful and the ultimate lap dog. Loves to sleep on your lap but will curl up in a dog bed if he has to! He is a little timid at first, and does tend to be a little nippy with strangers coming in the house and we are working on this but, would not recommend a home with small children. He likes to bark and dance for his food. This little guy is a treasure and will be a great addition to a family. Mick would do best in a home with a small dog savvy owner and at least one other dog. New home must be committed to continuing his house training because that is an ongoing process. He is crate trained. Not really a fan of the crate but he tolerates it.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
