Mini

ADOPTED! September 9, 2016

MiniSHM_legs

MiniSHM_bodyMini is a 4 month (as of Sept 1, 2016) old Labrador/Hound/Boxer mix: best guess, folks! She was picked up as a stray in Cuyahoga County and taken to the county shelter. She is a great pick for our program given her age and temperament so we helped free up some cage space by pulling her into our program. Mini has moved into a foster home where she is being crate and house trained and getting the structure and socialization a young pup needs. She will be spayed prior to her adoption. Mini is up to date on shots. Given her age we would recommend Mini to any family or individual adopter who can properly provide a home, attention, exercise and socialization for a young dog.

If you are interested in adopting Mini please email us at rescue@secondhandmutts.org.

FOSTER REPORT COMING SOON!

Mini is great. She loves to snuggle. She is a skinny-minnie who wants to climb in your lap and lay her head on your chest. Mini is doing great with crate potty training. She’s been in the crate up to 6 hours and had no accidents. She’s good with potty training outside of the crate in the house too. She likes soft toys, Dingo Chews, and Greenies (she has a refined palate). She is not, however, a big eater. She needs encouragement to eat her meals and must have them wet with warm water. She takes her pills nicely with peanut butter and enjoys her NylaBone smeared with Peanut Butter when she goes in her crate. Mini is doing well with the other dogs in our house. She likes to test them a little by seeing if she can claim toys, space, and food. She is gentle with this and gives little growls to see what kind of ground she can gain. She gains very little. It may just be puppy play and nagging of the older dogs. Whoever adopts her will be very lucky!

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
