MooMoo_yawnMoo Moo (otherwise known as Sasha) is the victim of home foreclosure. Her devastated family had no choice but to surrender her so she could find a home to live in. She was raised with the same family since she was 8 weeks old. She is a mix of terrier, Shar Pei and maybe bull dog (she’s got an outstanding under bite). She’s grown up around older children and is a very loyal and affectionate girl. She loves to snuggle in bed and be by her human companions. A few weeks prior to the family losing their home they also had to put their older dog to sleep so Moo Moo has been through a lot. She does need to learn some basic commands.

Moo Moo is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped.

FOSTER CARE REPORT

MooMOo_chairMooMoo/Sasha is a wonderful dog. She is smart, affectionate, playful, and fun. She and my dogs have a great time entertaining each other. She listens pretty well and is very treat motivated. She can be a bit grabby so she has to be reminded to be gentle and nice when taking a treat. We are working on basic commands but haven’t gotten too far yet.  She’s usually pretty calm and low key. She likes to relax next to me in the recliner or sometimes claims her own chair. She sleeps through the night; if she wants to go out, which is rare, she stands on me to wake me up–not fun!!
Moo Moo needs leash training but is doing better – she is a little reactive meeting other dogs on a leash but her reaction is not to be assumed as aggression. She would probably do best in a household with a male dog if her adopter was looking to pair her up or be a solo dog and work on her communication skills on a leash.

She’s good in the car and loves going for rides. Because she always wants to be with her human, she will rush to the door to go with you, whether you want her to or not. We are working on that too. She is now fully crate trained and does not seem to mind being left in a crate. If I’m gone longer, into the crate she goes. She really does not like to be home alone and gets inquisitive about things that she shouldn’t.
MooMoo would love to be able to run around and play in a fenced yard with a canine companion of similar size and temperament. She would be great with adults or in a family with older kids.
All in all, an awesome Secondhand Mutt!

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
