PapiPapi is a young, 8#, male Chihuahua mix. He was taken in by a resident who found him tied to her porch and cared for him for a few months. She was unable to keep him long term and reached out for help. Papi is a little shy of men but making improvements since being in a foster home an being exposed to more people. He is your typical Chihuahua with lots of energy and persistence for attention.

Papi is currently in a foster home and he house trained and would probably do best as an only dog or in a home with a dog or cat that he makes a good connection with. Papi would be very content being an only-dog with structured socialization as he tends to be a bit of a bully and needs some guidance socializing with others. Papi is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. All he needs now is a loving forever home!

FOSTER HOME REPORT

Papi came into our home a little over a week ago.  He is extremely smart and learns very quickly.  He is young (we feel around 1 year old), as he had puppy fur, teeth, behavior, energy.  He loves to play fetch and go for walks.  He has a ton of energy, so he will need an active home to go to.  He loves treats and attention.  He barks when he sees someone approaching the home.  He sleeps perfectly through the night.  I tried to crate train him and he did not like it.  Therefore, when we have to leave him alone, I put him in a smaller room, with his crate open.  I also have wee wee pads for him in there.  He has his bed, blanket, and toys to comfort him.  He can be finicky with his food.  He will eat, but may leave some behind.  I have never seen any Chihuahua do that!  Lol!
He is timid meeting new people.  He attaches overnight though.  He has eventually warmed up to my fiancee and cuddles with him and plays fetch.  At the adoption fair last weekend, I saw him go up to strangers (including children) a little timid, but not aggressive.  He just smelled them and then would let them pet him.  He also got the chance to play with dogs more his size and age/energy level.  He was great with that.  He does not get along with our dog, because she is old and set in her ways.  He is not mean with her, I just don’t think he understands why she won’t play nor cuddle with him.  He is a big love bug.  Please find it in your heart to give Papi a forever home.  He truly deserves it and I know he will appreciate it.
