Pierre

ADOPTED! August 13, 2014

PierreSHM_bodyPierre just arrived as a rescue transfer from another rescue. He was not doing well in the foster home with another dog but he’s getting along great here. Pack dynamics can make a huge difference in the success of placing a dog. Pierre is a 5 year old black and tan Doberman Pinscher. He is neutered, loves dogs and people. He is moving into a foster home soon so we will have a full report in a week on his in-home behavior and assessment. At daycare he enjoys playing with the other dogs and taking long naps. Stay tuned!

Pierre does have some skin loss on his body so we are taking him to our vet to have his skin scraped and see what is going on. He is currently on antiPierreSHM_skinbiotics.

UPDATE 7/18/14: Pierre went to the vet and we had bloodwork done and he is hypothyroid. He is taking medicine and will most likely need to take this for the rest of his life. The average cost is $20/month. He will be re-tested in a month and his coat should be looking great too!

Foster Home Report
Coming soon!

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.

Adoption Fee $250
