Sally

ADOPTED! September 28, 2016

CeceliaSHM_bed3
SallySHM_headSally is a small Terrier mix. She is around 15 pounds and considered a small dog. She was at the Boone County West Virginia shelter and transferred north to us with her sister Cecelia. The pair were surrendered by their owner (no further information given) and scared at the kennel so they were moved into a foster home with shelter volunteers. Since arriving at our facility Cecelia has really opened up and enjoyed playing with the pack. Her “sibling” Sally is still too scared and timid but has come a long way since arriving in June. Sally is not good with cats, but she loves kids. She is still very shy meeting new people and would do best in a home with a female owner or a male who can be patient with her.

We estimate Sally is a young adult dog. She is up to date on shots and spayed.

fosterhomeWe are seeking a foster home for Cecelia and for Sally. If you are interested please email us at foster_coordiantors@secondhandmutts.org to learn about our program and get involved.

Foster Reports from “weekend getaways”:

July 4: Sally and Cecelia rode well in the car, they seemed to enjoy it very much and were relaxed. They played in the fenced back yard, went potty on the grass twice. Neither one of them had any accidents in the house. They seem very comfortable in a house and will train very easy it seems. Cecelia put her nose in the fridge a couple of times, and sniffed around the kitchen trash can and put her paws on the table but that is what any puppy would do. They were great with the kids and Sally was wonderful and very smart. She loves to be held and pet. Who ever adopts these dogs will have wonderful pets. Thank you for allowing me and my family to have them for a few hours.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
