Stein

ADOPTED! AUGUST 8, 2014

SteinSHM_body2SteinSHM_bodyStein is a two year old Pomeranian. He is very skinny but we are confident we can fatten him up. He is pretty shy but coming out of his shell slowly in his foster home. He was taken in by animal control in central Ohio and transported north to find a better life. Stein is crate trained and house trained. He would to have a home where he can sit on your lap and be your best friend. He is up to date on shots and we will have a full foster report soon. Stay tuned to learn more about Stein.

Foster Home Report

I can’t say enough about Stein. He’s gaining weight and is coming out of his shell, finally. He is definitely a mom’s boy. He follows me around and loves nothing more then being in my lap. He is completely potty trained as he will jump around on the floor then stop and stare at you until you say “outside?” and to the door he runs!

He is more a loner then a pack member. He’s giving the rest of the dogs a chance. Likes the little ones more then the taller ones, but he’s learning. I think an ideal home would be an older couple, or single woman, with no little kids running around. He likes calm rather then noise. If all the other dogs are barking, he steps back and looks for me to pick him up.

Now, in the last few days he’s discovered his bark. He is NOT YAPPY, like some little dogs came be. But he will bark now and I’m working with him on not barking. He’s another that I would keep, but I know he would be such better off with a quieter home.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
