ADOPTED! MAY 7, 2014

Tomahawk is a young, small to medium sized mutt. He arrived from Mason County Animal Shelter picked up as a stray, put on hold to be reclaimed, and then released to rescue. He was a pretty stinky boy when we got him but now he’s been bathed and smelling great. He is around 6 months old, he is under 20# right now and we expect him to stay a small to medium sized dog. He was pretty shy his first day but now that’s he’s in a great foster home with a house full of dogs to play with he’s really come out of his shell.

FOSTER HOME REPORT:

It’s like they say April showers bring May flowers and he has surely bloomed into one cute lovable trusting pup.  It took him a little time to be comfortable with me walking across the room and realizing it wasn’t a threat to him and now he prances right with me throughout the house.   He likes playing with toys, running outside, lying with my other dogs and follows them everywhere.   He has learned a lot from them such as how to share food and treats, things to chew and how to play.  He has done awesome with house training, having hardly any accidents in my house.  During the work day he is crated and does great, no accidents and when home he is let out every 2 hours and often times more since the weather has been so much nicer.  He has been good on walks, even with 3 other dogs, no pulling or aimless wandering on his leash.  He is responsive to his name or when talking to him and gets super excited and wants to come give you kisses.  He would do great him a home as a single dog or having another dog/playmate already in the home.

Tommy is up to date on shots, microchipped and he will be neutered prior to his adoption. Please stay tuned to learn more about Tomahawk. We are not sure what breed to classify him as just yet – he will be visiting our veterinarian clinic this week to get a better idea. he looks like a small version of a yellow lab mixed with collie.
