Bing Cherry is is the littler mate to Stache. He is about 9 weeks old  and a Spaniel/Bulldog mix. He is 6.5 pounds (as of 7/18/14). He was posted online as a free puppy and we had an opening in a foster home so we took him in. He received his first round of shots with his former owner and we will take care of finding him a home and getting him neutered. Bing and his brother Stache (pending adoption) are in a foster home with other puppies so he is getting proper socialization with young and old dogs alike. He eats like a champion, sleeps like a rock and loves to play!

Bing Cherry has a correctable defect called cherry eye which is caused when a gland in the eye prolapses and protrudes, causing a fleshy mass to appear in the inner corner. Bing Cherry was initially purchased from Craigslist but after a week, the woman who bought him decided that she would not be able to afford his corrective surgery and knowing that we had rescued his brother, she contacted us. Bing Cherry will be assessed by Dr Liz at Gateway and we will know more about his prognosis and surgery then.

We would like to raise $300 to help with the surgery costs for Bing Cherry’s eyes. If you are able to donate you can do so by calling 216-664-9660 to charge by phone, or send a check with “Bing Cherry” in the memo line, or you can donate online by clicking on the donate graphic to the left.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.

Puppy Adoption Fee $225
