Bruno is a 10 month old black and rust Doberman Pinscher. His ears and his tail are cropped (but his ears flop). Bruno was found tied to a mailbox by a Good Samaritan in Amherst. He was taken to a veterinary clinic and a microchip was located and his owners were contacted. They did not want to pick  him up so Bruno went home with the person who found him. Not prepared to keep a young dog (Doberman energy is a lot for anyone who has not owned the breed) he was networked through the local animal control agency who in turn networked him to a group of local rescue groups to take him in. We agreed to take him and thanks to Love-A-Stray Dog Division his neuter and initial veterinary needs were covered.

Bruno is a very happy-go-lucky fellow. He has a lot of energy and will need an owner who can match his need for exercise and someone who is willing to start working on his basic obedience right away. Anthony, a Certified Dog Trainer at The Mutt Hutt, is offering three lessons to his adopters and will start his obedience while he is in our care. We are actively seeking a foster home for Bruno so that we can learn more about his home behaviors (he does like to counter surf we found out quickly). This breed is known for working and to set a Doberman up for success in any home we strongly suggest a structured plan and keeping Bruno’s mind as active as his body.

If you would like to meet Bruno please fill out an application and we will contact you to set up an appointment. For this breed we typically have applications on file and will network Dobermans to folks that have applied and are anxiously awaiting to be matched with one of our dogs.
