Chili

ADOPTED! November 12, 2014

ChiliSHMChili is a 3.5 month old Rat Terrier mix. He was surrendered to a veterinary clinic after being diagnosed with parvovirus. Failure to vaccinate young dogs can result in a deadly disease: Parvovirus. Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious viral disease that can produce a life-threatening illness. The virus attacks rapidly dividing cells in a dog’s body, most severely affecting the intestinal tract. Parvovirus also attacks the white blood cells, and when young animals are infected, the virus can damage the heart muscle and cause lifelong cardiac problems. Unable to care for the expensive treatment this pup, named Chili, was left at Gateway Animal Clinic. Project Noah funds, helps the community through rescue services, veterinary services to shelters, and other pet welfare support services. It was Project Noah and a team of caring staff that made it possible to save Chili’s life. He spent two weeks in isolation with IVs and antibiotics he is now in our care and looking for a forever home.

Thanks to the great staff at Gateway Animal Clinic another young life was saved. Chili is looking for a great home where he can learn everything a young pup will need to grow up to be a balanced dog. Puppies do take a lot of patience, time and commitment so if you are not ready please don’t apply. Study up on the breed to make sure your lifestyle fits the needs of a Rat Terrier.

fosterhomeChili needs a foster home until we can find them a forever home. If you are interested in helping provide a temporary home for a puppy who needs it please email foster_coordinators@secondhandmutts.org.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
