ADOPTED! September 20, 2016
Guthrie is a Coon Hound we estimate to be around 7 years old. He was at a central Ohio shelter and transported north to spare his life. He arrives a little underweight but very happy to be free. He rode well in the volunteer transport car (seat belted in the front seat) and behaved like a gentleman. Guthrie is a typical hound with his nose to the ground outside and on walks. He pulls a little but with some work he will a great walker. Guthrie will be moving to a foster home so we can learn more about him and choose the best home for him. We recommend with hounds a fenced yard. They are typically great dogs for families and older children. We do not recommend Guthrie for homes with children under 8 due to his size and breed. Guthrie is NOT good with cats (typical for this breed).
If you are interested in adopting Guthrie please email us at rescue@secondhandmutts.org.
We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
