Loki

ADOPTED! AUGUST 4, 2014LokiSHM_toy

Loki was adopted out from our organization about 2 years ago. We have placed three Secondhand Mutts with the same owner and since adding the last dog to the home there has been some change in the pack dynamics. We have worked with Loki’s owner and determined it may be best to find him new home. We took Loki back in and about a month later, in May, we placed in into another home. The family had him for about two months when they determined he was not a fit due to the children in the house. He was guarding the kids bedroom and we’ve determined Loki may not be a fit for a household with small children. Kids over 10 are fine.

Loki is a 6 year old terrier mix about 17 lbs. who loves people and is a very affection young man.   He enjoys walks as much as chilling out around the house with you or in his own space.  He is excellent on a leash and a good watch dog.  He currently lives with two other high energy dogs which have caused him some agitation and anxiety with all the activity around the house.  He would do best as a single dog.  He does play well one on one with another dogs and at dog parks and daycare. He has some resource guarding issues so we feel a quiet home where he can be spoiled and an only dog is best.

Loki is house broken, shares food and toys, no food aggression.  He really enjoys catch and tug of war with him.  He is very cuddly and used to sleeping in a bed but is used to dog beds for a night’s sleep or day napping.  He is used to being home during the work day by himself up to 8 hours.  He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchip and will be provided with a year supply of heart worm preventative from his current owner.  He is a sweet little boy who would benefit from a relaxed home with a loving and affectionate owner.

If you would like to meet Loki please email us at rescue@secondhandmutts.org.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
