ShihTzu_maleBelieve it or not the dog pictured to the left is the same dog as the one on the top of this page thanks to the Amanda at The Mutt Hutt Grooming Salon who donated her time to make Quincy feel and look better. Quincy is a 4 year old Shih Tzu. He was surrendered to a shelter with his yorkie sister and she was adopted. Quincy was unable to be on the adoption floor at the shelter due to his “cage aggression” so he was networked to rescues and we stepped up and took him in. We will not sugar coat a thing: he does have aggression in his cage. However, it’s all show and talk because once he is out he is a gentleman. We will never know what kind of life Quincy once had or if he spent a lot of time quarantined or in a kennel but that life is over and he’s on to better and brighter things. He has moved into a foster home and is looking for a forever home. He is sensitive when he is picked up so we are not recommending he live in a home with small children. Quincy is in a foster home living with two dogs and a cat and he is social with all of them.

Quincy is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative and neutered.

FOSTER HOME REPORT:

Quincy is an awesome dog! He got attached to me very quickly and he is completely house trained. Quincy does not chew anything or have destructive behavior. He is a good listener…. except a couple of mornings…he runs out the door with me because he doesn’t want me to leave and then I’ve got to get him back in the house. He is sensitive about being picked up and can be snappy but has never tried to bite me. He is super excited to see me when I get home from work and he will lay right next to me when I relax.  Quincy is a great lap dog, but he does have a lot of energy that needs to be worked off by walking him. He has no issues with food or treats…takes treats out of my hand very gently. He is also attentive to letting me know if someone is at my front door.
