Rascal

ADOPTED! AUGUST 2, 2014

RascalSHM_bodyRascal is a 4 year old Dachsaund/Beagle mix. He is about 15 pounds. He does have some skin issues right now that we are having evaluated to determine the issue and then a solution. Rascal was picked up as a stray in Meigs County, Ohio and taken to the local shelter. He is a active little guy that will be introduced to our pack in the coming week. He is not neutered yet but will be prior to his adoption and prior to pack socialization.

Foster Home Report

Overall, Rascal was a really good foster dog. We had some marking issues at the beginning but that stopped pretty quickly.  The poor guy was itching and scratching and biting from the flea dermatitis all the time so if Gateway Animal Clinic can recommend something to help with the itching that might be beneficial for him.  He did great with my baby Nora and my dogs. Super laid back and very sweet. Once I had the time to sit down and pet him a little, he bonded with me pretty quickly and would often follow me around the house.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
