FOSTER HOME REPORT:

Snoopy came to my home approximately three weeks ago. He’s been a joy to have in the home; a calm, quiet, gentle soul. He was very shy at first and slow to warm up to his humans but during his time here he’s come out of his shell and made himself right at home with us and his five doggo brothers, “the boys.” He very much enjoys being around other dogs and we’ve had no issues there. Additionally, Snoopy has been exposed to my cat and has shown interest. The cat stays upstairs, and the stairs are baby gated, so he’s had no direct contact with him but again Snoopy became excited when he saw the cat.

Outside, Snoopy likes taking slower laps around the fenced yard and playing with the boys. He does apretty good job is keeping up with the pack. He is slower because of his back legs but, all in all, it really doesn’t stop him from having fun. He does very well on the leash, as well, but he can still be a bit hesitant and frightened when in unfamiliar surroundings and around new people. He’s shown no signs
of aggression of any type towards humans. In fact, he rarely even barks when outside or inside.

Inside, sweet Snoopy doesn’t jump up on the furniture because of his hind legs but he loves to cuddle if you pick him and place him near you. He can do stairs. He’ll gladly and quickly fall asleep near you on the couch or in bed if you pick him up and place him on the furniture. Conversely, he’s also content with
sleeping in his dog bed and doesn’t whine or bark if left to sleep on his own during the night.

Snoopy has a tendency to follow his human around and, in general, he likes to be very close to me when I am home. During the day, while I am work, I have been keeping him in the puppy playpen with several dog beds, his water and food. He does well in the playpen but I think he could safely stay out in the
home for long periods of time. On the weekends I leave him out to roam when I’m running errands, etc. and we’ve had no issues. He has demonstrated no destructive tendencies (chewing, etc.).

We’re still working on house training but he’s never had a #2 accident in the house, which leads me to believe he was a house dog at some point in his former life. He occasionally still has marking accidents in the house and in his playpen but he’s getting much better. I expect part of that was due to him not being neutered, which he is now. With a little more time and a patient human he’s well on his way.

Snoopy is a picky and slow eater. He shows no signs of food aggression. Quite the opposite, he likes to graze and is slow to take treats but he will take them now! When he first arrived at my home he wouldn’t eat at all perhaps because he was frightened and nervous. His appetite significantly improved
over the last few weeks. I have been feeding him Biljac mixed with dry food and he’s doing fine with it. He’ll also eat straight dry food but I’ve continued with the Bilajc to continue to help him gain some weight.

Snoopy is a loving little guy. He’ll make a great addition to his new family. They’ll be lucky to have him!
