Laverne (Cocker Spaniel) and Shirley ( Siberian Husky) are from the same prior owner. The owner passed away and the local animal control officers stepped in and removed the dogs from the home when no other family members took responsibility for them. Lavern arrived and was quite a mess. Her coat was not taken care of she has and is being treated for a skin condition, ear infection and eye infection. She is taking to the antibiotics well and her skin is already looking better. The groomers at The Mutt Hutt took great care of her and gave her a proper hair cut for the summer.
Shirley has been placed in a forever home and doing great! Laverne is housebroken, good with kids and dogs. She is also shy but not as shy and reserved as Shirley. Laverne loves to take walks and gets very excited when you pull out the leash for walking her.
We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or emailrescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
2013 Dog Adoption Fee: $200
Adoption fees cover your dog being fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, spayed or neutered, health checked, temperament tested, micro-chipped and socialized.
