Louie is a large Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix (best guess), who was left at a local veterinary office for 3 weeks. The owner was not coming back for him so he’s been surrendered and transferred to be a Secondhand Mutt. Coincidentally, the folks at The Mutt Hutt already knew Louie from when he was a puppy and attended daycare. Sadly, we don’t know why his owners wouldn’t want to keep him but everyone has an excuse or reason to give up a pet. Louie is about 5 years old. He is very obedient, knows basic commands, he is housebroken and good with other dogs. He used to live with a cat so he is cat-friendly too! We are told Louie is off leash trained, we have not had him work with our trainer and do not encourage adopters to have our adoptables off leash until the dog has formed a bond with his or her new owner. Louie is eager to learn and eager to please.
If you are interested in fostering Louie please email us at fosterdogs@secondhandmutts.org.
We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or emailrescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
2013 Dog Adoption Fee: $200
