Wembly

WemblySHMWembly wondered into one of our neighbors yards this week and luckily for him that home belonged to supporters of Secondhand Mutts. The couple kept him for a couple of days to try and find his owners. With our help he was reported as a found dog and no response from an owner so we have admitted him into our program. He is some sort of wire-haired mix – we just aren’t sure of the breed – maybe some Jack Russel? Either way, he’s cute and he’s looking for a forever home.

Wembly we estimate to be around a year old. He is neutered and now up to date on shots. Wembly started off really shy with our dogs and our human pack but in just a few short days he’s really come around. He is very sweet and likes the company of dogs and humans. He’d make an excellent companion dog.

FOSTER HOME REPORT:

Wembly is doing fine and has adjusted to our home nicely. He is frisky and  affectionate and can be hilarious at times. He doesn’t bark excessively and likes to ride in the car.  He is smart though so you have to watch him. He knows how to work the car doors that rolls down the window so safety locks are a must.  He has some understanding of basic commands such as come, go, sit, ect. but needs consistency because he likes to play and won’t always take you serious. He does ok in the crate but we only put him there in the day while at work or summer camp. He doesn’t seem fully house trained yet, but then we may not know yet how he lets us know when its time to go, otherwise he has free reign of the house. He enjoys walking and laying around with me or my daughter. I believe with a little time he will adjust to our schedule as he seems to do well with routine. He eats good, twice a day and his stools are solid as expected. He has a favorite toy my daughter gave him that he will do anything for. He sleeps with it and carries all over the house.  He does like to chew on house shoes and things so keep them out of reach. All in all he is a fun companion and brings joy to anyone who loves him.
