A PIG IS A 10-15 YEAR COMMITMENT AND APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED CAREFULLY BEFORE ANY MEET AND GREETS ARE SCHEDULED. To receive an application please email president@secondhandmutts.org.

Penny is a 7 month old miniature pig. She is all black with a touch of white on her nose. She will be spayed before she is adopted at Doud’s Veterinary Clinic in Oberlin. Penny was surrendered because her owners no longer “had time” for her. They must have loved her because she is very well cared for, has a healthy coat of hair, her skin is great and she is housebroken and crate trained. Penny is currently in foster care.975169_10201308283418691_2050427754_n

Penny will ring a bell when she needs to go outside. She learned how to climb steps with the help of Cheerios and mastered them in just one day! She has been exposed to dogs and cats but not all dogs like pigs or should live with pigs. Penny is a bit picky about what dogs she likes so she may do best in a dog-free home, but we open to her living with a dog. Penny can be a bit feisty and she is naturally stubborn. She does love to snuggle on the couch and be wrapped in blankets. Penny should probably not live with other pigs unless her new owner has experience with pigs and a history of owning them.

To apply to adopt Penny we have a special pig application that is only available vie email and it is not on our website. We will not adopt Penny to someone living in an apartment or if you do not have access to a fenced in yard.
