Evan

ADOPTED! January 26, 2015EvanSHM_skinnyEvanSHM_body

Evan is a 9 month old Labrador Retriever. He was picked up by the Fayette County Animal Control and taken to their local facility. He was obviously suffering from starvation and nobody knows how long he was on the road. The volunteers at the animal control agency networked him to raise the money to get him to a veterinarian and amazingly the bloodwork didn’t detect any internal organ  damage. He was tested for worms and given a full health evaluation before we stepped in to take him in. Once we had a foster home secured (which didn’t take us long) he was transported north by volunteers and moved into our quarantine room. Evan was very scared at the first shelter and wouldn’t eat from the stainless steel dog bowls. He was hand fed by our staff of volunteers and since moving to a foster home he is comfortable and content as you can see by the photo of him on the couch.

Evan is a very playful, balanced boy. He is eating small meals throughout the day and is gaining weight in the short time he’s been in his foster home. He has had no accidents in the home so we can officially say he’s housetrained!  Evan will make any family very happy and we will make him available to adopt when he is neutered and our vet team gives us the green light he’s healthy for placement.

It’s dog like Evan that help us continue our mission and go The Extra Mile for. Welcome home, buddy! Welcome home.
