Join us at our first-ever Clams for a Cause fundraiser, this year to benefit a very special dog in our program: Red Ruby.
Ruby arrived at our facility blind from untreated diabetes. We made it our mission to give her back her sight through a replacement lens surgery. Ruby’s foster mom fell in love with her after caring for her the last two months and officially adopted her in late August. The cost of her surgery was $3500 and she will need to be spayed at the end of 2013. She is taking twice daily insulin shots for her diabetes, in addition to expensive eye drops she may have for the rest of her life.
Ruby will be as happy as a clam with her eyesight back, and she deserved to have it so we mad it happen for her. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of the expenses we took on when we took Ruby into our program. Ticket sales for the Clambake, ticket sales for the Red Ruby Raffle Basket, and a 50/50 Raffle being held at the Clams for a Cause event will all go toward her medical bills.
Ruby will be making an appearance with her mom and family at the Clam Bake at around 7 PM. We are so excited for everyone to meet her and for her to see all of you that come.
