Daisy

ADOPTED! February 22, 2015

DaisySHM2Daisy came into our program over the summer of 2013 and was adopted in August 2013. She was recently returned due to behavior with children that was not going to be a fit for the family who adopted her. We worked very hard with the family and they worked equally as hard with a trainer and in the end we agreed it was the best decision to have her removed from the home. Daisy over the years continued to attend daycare at The Mutt Hutt and she is a staff favorite here.

Original Story….

Daisy is a medium sized terrier mix. She resembles a standard Schnauzer but also look a little like an Airedale Terrier in the face and body. She has a very sweet personality and already knows “go to your crate”. She was picked up as a stray in Richland County and taken to the local shelter to be reclaimed, adopted or transferred to rescue. We work with high-kill shelters and Richland County Animal Shelter was over capacity and the dogs in their care were at risk of being euthanized so we agreed to take three to give them some relief.

DaisySHMDaisy is now in a foster home living with former Secondhand Mutt Tonya and her brother Sinatra who is blind and deaf. She is also living with a cat named Doctor Dude. Daisy is estimated to be 10 years old, she has cataracts and is hard of hearing. She would do best in a home with a couple who lives a simple life and doesn’t expect much from a dog but companionship and love in return. We believe with her senior gal “issues” of not having the best vision or hearing a home wtihout small children is best as she doesn’t understand nor do children on mutual respect in the home for dogs like Daisy.

Daisy is up to date on shots, she is healthy, spayed and looking for a forever home to grow old in.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.

Dog Adoption Fee: $200
