Dente

ADOPTED! June 9, 2014

Dente_CAC

DenteSHM_pawsDente is an 8+ year old Schnauzer/Yorkshire Terrier mix. He was taken to the City of Cleveland Kennel in the condition you see on the left of the picture above. He was a matted mess and needed a groom urgently. Luckily for him the groomers at Style Mutt Boutique were able to remove his mats and give him a fresh new doo for spring! He’s a happy go lucky guy looking for a family to curl up next to at night and go for walks during the day. Dente is currently in foster care, he will be neutered prior to his adoption. If you’d like to meet Dente please email us at rescue@secondhandmutts.org or fill out an application online and we will contact you.

Foster Care Report:

This little guy is the sweetest, most gentle and loving dog we have ever met! He just loves to be petted and loved. He is very docile, gets along wonderfully with our two terrier girls, plays when prompted and walks like a champ on a leash. We are working on some basic commands (come, sit, give paw, etc.). While these do seem somewhat foreign to him he has obviously been trained not to jump on furniture or on people. He has no bad habits at all and is truly a joy.

We gave him the name ‘Dente’ which is Italian for ‘tooth’ because his right, lower canine incisor sticks out of his mouth a bit. So cute!! He has no trouble chewing at all and it certainly doesn’t bother him at all but it does give him character! In a weeks time since coming to live with us he has settled into our routine very nicely. He would make a loving addition to any home! He does seem to be older but is not lacking in energy. He looks forward to our daily 2 mile walks around the neighborhood and runs and plays with his step-sisters.

Please consider giving this loving guy a loving home. You will not be sorry!

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
