Hank

ADOPTED! December 1, 2014

HankSHM_floor

HankSHMHank is a 5  year old pure bred Labrador Retriever. He is “yellow” or blonde in color. He is 91# and full of love — it’s crawling out of his skin! Hank has a microchip and was picked up in the City of Cleveland. The chip came back with information leading to a number in Fort Polk, Louisiana. The city attempted to reach the owner at the listed number but there was never a response. After a week Hank (his given name) was transferred to the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. He was there since 11/13 and again his contact info from his microchip was called, a message left that he would be held for a week, a second message was unsuccessful due to the voicemail box being full. We will never really know how or why Hank was running stray but we are committed to finding him a great forever family. We may reach out to Dogs on Deployment to see if there is someone in the military who owns him and left him with family or friends in Ohio. We really know this dog was someone’s and he was loved and we would want nothing more than to reunite him with his owner if he/she could be found.

Hank has moved to a labrador-loving foster home and he loves daycare and will make a great addition to any family. He is up to date on shots and neutered. He will need some leash training as he is strong and will pull you all over the sidewalk on walks.  As we get to know Hank more we will update our website and move him into a foster home. Gizzard is up to date on shots, healthy and microchipped.

Foster Home Report

Coming soon!

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
