ADOPTED! December 1, 2014
Kona is a 6 year old Doberman Pinscher. She is a stunning black and tan with cropped ears and a docked tail. She was raised by a family and when they had children and were living in a small home they realized they couldn’t give Kona what she needed any longer. They found a family to take her that had lots of land and she was with them for a little over a year. Kona had a dispute with the other dog living in the home and the family determined they didn’t want to keep her so they contacted the former owner to return her. In turn the original owner contacted us and that is how Kona got here.
Kona has decompressed in quarantine for 3 days and is now a part of the daycare pack. She does have some dominate tendencies so matching her up with a family that has Doberman experience would be a plus. She would probably love to be an only dog but we are not ruling that out by any means. She loves kids and would do fine in a home withe children. She does some attention barking but quiets down easily on command. Kona knows basic commands and loves to work. She is your typical velcro Doberman through and through.
Kona needs to live in a cat-free home.
We are currently seeking a foster home for her until we can place her. If you are interested in fostering Kona please email our volunteers at foster_coordinators@secondhandmutts.org.
