Luther is a 9 month old Mastif/Bully/Boxer mix. He was taken to a local veterinarians office when he was very ill with a suspected blockage. The owners were unable to financially care for his medical needs so they signed him over to the clinic and then he was signed over to us for his care. He tested positive for parvo-virus and was quarantined for weeks while being treated. He has now received medical clearance to find a forever home! Luther is a very active boy, he is happy-go-lucky and extremely playful. He was neutered a week ago and still shows strong interest in females but backs down accordingly when prompted.
He loves to go on walks and is well behaved with our volunteers who walk him. He LOVES kids and would make an excellent family pet. He would be great for a family that can keep him socially active with other dogs, children and he’s love to have a running partner if he could find one! Luther is house trained and crate trained.
We are seeking a foster home for Luther. If you are interested in fostering and are willing to do some basic training in the home with our guidance that will be required. Please contact our volunteers at foster_coordinators@secondhandmutts.org.
We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
