Stella was picked up stray in the City of Cleveland and kept safe at the local animal control facility. Her owners did not come looking for her to claim her. Stella arrived with a double hernia which will be fixed when she is spayed. She is an outgoing beagle with typical beagle characteristics. Stella is 18#, up to date on her vaccines and now has a microchip. She has moved into a foster home where she is residing with two other dogs.

FOSTER HOME REPORT:

Stella is the cutest little beagle girl around. She only weighs about 15 pounds and is 3-4 years old. She can be shy, nervous, and may even try to bolt at first but, once she knows you, her sweet personality comes out. She can sometimes be timid and submissive with both humans and other dogs but she’s improving and she does want to play. She gets along with my two and I’ve seen no sign of food/treat aggression at all.  I tried crating her but she doesn’t like it so I’ve been confining her in the kitchen which has worked out well. She will be right at the door when I leave or come home so I’m careful she doesn’t escape. She seems to be house trained as there’s only been two accidents and she’s been sleeping through the night without needing to go out. We are slowly working on basic commands. She’s not a big fan of walks but does like to be outside in the yard. I’ve been using a tie-out just to be sure she won’t get through or under the fence. So far, she’s also not a fan of car rides so I have a crate to keep her settled. For a beagle, Stella is pretty laid back and likes to snooze in a recliner or be a lap dog. She does have the usual hound howl but she’s not really a barker. Stella would be a wonderful companion to just about anyone but would do best not being left alone for long hours every
