Turnip was taken to Gateway Animal Clinic after being hit by a car. His owners chose not to take care of him and he surrendered him to the clinic. Luckily he didn’t have any major injuries or broken bones – he will be under vet supervision for a few days and then transferred to our rescue to a foster home. Turnip is 12 week old pup – he may have some Dalmation in him or he just has cute black spots on his ears! Anyway you slice it he’s cute.
Update: Turnip has been released from the clinic and moved into a foster home. His wounds are heeling up nicely and we expect a full, normal recovery. He is a very playful boy that will require everything a normal puppy requires: structure, obedience, exercise and affection. He would benefit from continued socialization at daycare or dog parks as well as crate training for added structure in his life.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
