We are selling $10 raffle tickets to raise money for Red Ruby, a blind, diabet Doberman we took in a couple of months ago and recently placed in a forever home. We committed to making sure Ruby could get her vision restored and to do that we have set up two fundraisers going on to raise our goal.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of her double eye lens replacement surgery, her spay surgery that will happen in December 2013, her daily insulin and a variety of eye medications she has been taking and will continue to take throughout her life.
An anonymous donor gave us an $1800 gift certificate for Levin Furniture and we knew this was going to be a great way to raise money for Ruby’s expenses. One of our volunteer basket creators donated tons of goodies to accompany the basket making it’s value $2500. The basket includes a $250 gift certificate for The Mutt Hutt.
We will also be holding our first-ever Clams for a Cause fundraiser on Saturday, October 5th. At this event we will draw the winning ticket for the basket announcing our winner at 9:00 PM. Winners need not be present, just be sure to include your contact information on your ticket. Ruby will be making a special appearance with her new mom and some family. We really hope you can come out and join us for an evening supporting a great cause, and a wonderful dog.
Ruby has big plans in her future. She has enrolled at The Mutt Hutt Dog Training Center in the Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dogs International course. She has hopes of becoming a therapy dog, her owner Barb knows it’s her calling and wants everyone to share Ruby’s love of life.
