Boo

ADOPTED! March 24, 2014

BooSHM_body_marthaBoo was brought into a local animal hospital to be euthanized because his owners didn’t want him anymore. The doctor at the clinic convinced the owners to surrender him to the clinic instead and  then reached out to us for help. Boo is a super happy boy, well trained, and great with kids and dogs and cats (we have two clinic cats he sees daily). He greets the clinic clients with a huge smile, he can put his toys away, knows tricks, leash trained, super smart and gentle. He’s truly an amazing dog and has great potential to be a therapy dog if someone wanted to take him through the CGC/TDI therapy training program.

Boo is on daily medication has not has one seizure in the last two years. The hospital is donating TWO full months of medication which we will use until he is placed and give any remaining to his adopters. All of his toys come with him too. He had blood work done in November and everything came back great. He’s neutered and up to date on vaccines as well. Boo is around 60 pounds. Boo was a little stressed out being kenneled so the veterinarian put him on a special diet – he can transition to a high-quality dog food once adopted.

FOSTER CARE REPORT:
Boo is settling in nicely. He walks well on a leash, still no accidents (I have not noticed loose stool), and he loves affection and playtime! He is a little food/treat possessive toward other dogs, but not to people and backs down to voice commands. He and Lucy are getting along just fine.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.

Adoption Fee $200
