Gina, one of the female Chihuahua’s taken in from a large neglect/hoarding investigation case we shared, is one of the six dogs we took in to assist the Cleveland Animal Protective League with their placement. Click here to learn more about the dogs story.

Gina, along with Paula, were moved into one of the most experienced Chihuahua handler homes in our foster provider network after spending just over two weeks at our facility decompressing. Since moving in Gina has made huge strides in her temporary home. She does have some fear issues and we are hopeful she will overcome them in a new forever home.  aHer foster providers, John and Melanie along with their own Chihuahua Wynston, have given Gina the guidance and TLC she has needed to make this transition. Read more about Gina’s foster report to determine if you are the right candidate to adopt.

Paula is up to date on all of her vaccines, she has a microchip and she has been spayed.

We are currently accepting applications for Paula and Gina. Jane and Belinda pictured above have moved into their forever homes.

FOSTER HOME REPORT:

Gina is a sweet and beautiful little girl.  She is extremely timid at first and won’t come out and be around others for some time.  She will run from you in the beginning so you will need to provide her a “safe space” for her to go to.  Once she comes out of her fear, she simply loves to be touched and pets and cuddles.
She loves food but needs to eat away from other dogs.  She plays and gets along great with her foster siblings.  We are working on potty training.  She will use pee pads but has had some accidents.  She can be verbally corrected.  She is still very fearful so that will take time to overcome.  She does allow me to pick her up now.  Gina is a wonderful dog to have for the right owner.
