Nova is a 2 year old Dachshund mix. Her owner surrendered her and our suspicion is she could possibly be the mother of Bear and Sloth (but this is not confirmed). Nova is reserved and scared and it will take a quiet home for her to build up her trust. We are not sure yet if she is going to do best as an only dog or if she will come out of her shell more in a home with a friend. We are hopeful to find her a foster home so we can learn more about her while we look for a forever home for her. Nova will be spayed before her adoption.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.
