Penelope

ADOPTED! June 10, 2016

Penelope_shelterPenelope is a ten year old female Beagle. She was picked up in Scioto County and taken to a shelter. A nonprofit group, Stop the Suffering, works with rural animal shelters in Ohio to save the lives of cats and dogs. Penelope was networked to us and we agreed to take her in. She was covered in fleas when she arrived and suffered from flea dermatitis. Thanks to the folks at STS and our generous donors she was able to get the medical help she needed before heading northbound for her new refuge. Penelope is the sweetest little Beagle we’ve ever met. She always has a smile on her face and her tag wags with glee.

Penelope has a suspected mammary tumor that we will have removed (if needed) when she is spayed. She is now up to date on shots, microchipped, treated for flea and heartworm and on her way to happy future.

We reached out to the folks that had applied to adopt The Wiz back in January and were able to find a couple of families interested in meeting Penelope. We are now in the process of choosing her forever home for her.

We are not a traditional shelter, we are a cage-free facility. All dogs are temperament tested and must get along with other dogs to stay here. Appointments must be made in advance to meet our Secondhand Mutts. Please call 216-664-9660 or email rescue@secondhandmutts.org to set up a time. We are closed on Sundays. We prefer to adopt to local families but will consider long distance adoptions.

Adoption Fee $200
