Sheena is a compact medium sized gal arriving in Cleveland from the Adams County Animal Shelter via our wonderful volunteer transporter Nancy. Dozens of dogs are transported from high-kill shelters every day in Ohio and without the help of Stop the Suffering and the hundreds of rescue and shelter partners many dogs would be euthanized. We are lucky to welcome Sheena into our rescue family. As we get to know her we will be matching her up with applicants who may meet her at one of our adoption events or read about her online.

Sheena is estimated to be between 3-4 years old. She gave birth to puppies about seven months ago and 2 of her pups were also transported to safety to find homes. Our best guess breed mix for Sheena is a spaniel of some sort. She does look like an inflated King Charles Cavalier and even has a bit of the laid back personality characteristic for the breed however you guess is as good as ours.

Sheena was not spayed but we will take care of that through our public donations we save and budget for to take care of all of our dogs medical needs including monthly flea and heartworm preventative. Sheena has tested positive for Lymes Disease which we are consulting with our veterinarian team at Gateway Animal Clinic for future treatment. Lyme disease in dogs is one of the most common tick-transmitted diseases in the world, but it only causes symptoms in 10 percent of affected dogs.

Sheena has moved into a comfortable foster home and she is currently living with three other dogs. Stay tuned for more information!
