Zara is a 7 year old Doberman Pinscher was being sold by her breeder located in Southern Ohio. She has spent her life living behind an electric fence caring for the puppies she produced for profit. She’s got the sweetest disposition despite being shut down from the lack of affection and attention she had been deprived of. Zara (not her breeder name) was found online listed for sale by her breeder which is common for dogs who are done breeding but the breeders want to make one last buck off their product. Luckily her ad was viewed by a very caring person involved in animal rescue and despite having to put together the funds ($318) to get her released to her care the transaction was made to  insure she would have the best future. She was transported by several volunteers and then turned over to us to find her that future she deserves.

Our current observations of Zara is that she will do best in a home where her new owners have patience and a lot of love to provide as she transitions from being a lonely dog to a loved dog. Needless to say she is very happy to be with us, having a warm bed and a heated blanket to keep her cozy. She was transferred to a foster provider home right after the holiday. As we get to know  Zara a bit better we will update her profile accordingly.

FOSTER HOME REPORT:

She is such a love bug she stays right by me and wants me to constantly be petting her. She is drinking water not much but a little and the one time she drank a whole bunch she then got back in the bed and leaked (poor thing) but she’s still learning the ropes of being in a home which I know takes time.

She likes to get up into the guest bed she can’t do it quite herself yet but she’s trying she gets her front paws up and I help with the back. She will not go down the basement steps even though they have carpet. We usually find her laying on the dog bed in the office while I am working and wants to be pet constantly. The cats are coping and she could care less about them so that is good news too!

She deserves all the love in the world she’s a sweetheart.
